about

This is the first in a series of pieces I will make available for streaming, an eclectic mix of music bound together only by the fact that I like each piece, and it means something to me! Schein's Intrada was a piece we used to perform several years ago at the Centre for Young Musicians, I loved it as soon as I played it and it's stayed almost fully formed in my mind for many many years. I always wanted to arrange this wind piece for cello quartet, though in all fairness 'arrangement' is a bit strong, as it was more a case of redistribution of parts here and there, and fitting it in to 2 rather than 3 octaves (as I didn't fancy screaming around in this instance...). I do love this sound world in general, and it filled me with exuberant joy recording this piece. I hope you'll enjoy it.
Recorded at home with my DPA mic, each line performed in one take.
