    ‘From The Sea’ is a map of sorts. Many people have walked with me along the way, and I’m grateful to my family, my inspirational friends and my teachers in all walks of life. There are both profound and lighthearted stories behind the music, including experiencing the silent majesty of The Florentine Valley in Tasmania, to which I dedicate ‘Tu Florentine’. I had good wine and I played jazz notes at Wick Studios in Melbourne, and ‘Prelude’ was born. I found the birdsong I needed early one summer morning on Blackheath to set ‘The Flaconer’ in flight. The poignant imagery in words selected by TS Eliot, WB Yeats, Omar Khayyam and my dear friend Mohan Rana inspired other tracks, and if you listen carefully, you’ll hear the presence of an ageless clock that keeps a different time …
